This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My kindergarten students come together every day to play and learn. Much of what they know about the world around them is solely based on the people in their families and immediate neighborhood. I would like to purchase block play people that represent different, races, cultures, and abilities. Being exposed to cultural diversity through play is a first step to accepting, appreciating, including, and celebrating all people. I am attempting to purchase many play block people to have multi-racial and cultural families and will share these figures with other kindergarten classes.
