Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from low-income homes. Many of them are English Language Learners with little to no English exposure. Despite the hardships some go through, they still manage to log into our virtual classroom with smiles on their faces. When they enter my class, they are curious and eager to learn!
My students are innovative, creative, and excited to learn.
Our school is 90% English Language Learners. It is very unfortunate that due to their socioeconomic status, my students do not have the same opportunities that they strongly deserve to become successful learners. Distance learning is a huge challenge and even more difficult if you do not have all the necessary materials.
My Project
My classrooom allows students to use flexible seating and gives them choices to best fit their learning needs. We all learn differently. Some of us like to sit in regular chairs at a regular desk. Others like to stand and work or sit in movable seats so they can move around and wiggle while they work.
Mobile desks will allow the students to stand, sit or move around while working.
This flexibility is essential to their learning. I need to fit the needs of ALL my students and their needs are not all the same. A larger computer moniotor will allow students the flexibility to move around the room and still be able to see the screen they are working on.
