Let's Move: ATPE

My students need 11 swivel task chairs to allow them movement and comfort at their space as well as the ability to move around the table freely when working as a group.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. However, all students walk into my classroom with positive attitudes and are ready and eager to learn something about Science or Social Studies.

My students love move around and tend to work often with "hands on" assignments.

Many of them are being raised in single parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. This should not hinder them from receiving the best education they can get. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom they are welcomed in and focus is put on each student to reaching his/her potential while they are with me. Teachers cannot control their students home lives but we can control their experiences during the school day. By providing my students with creative and energetic teaching, I am hopeful to inspire all of my students to continue on a path of academic excellence.

My Project

All of my students want to sit in the "special chair" in my class. It is a Flash Furniture Baseball Chair that swivels and rolls. Unfortunately, I am unable to fund more chairs for my classroom like this one.

These swivel task rolling chairs will give students the opportunity for movement and comfort.

These wonderful chairs also allow for easy movement from side to side or back and forth. They are cushioned and offer comfort seating for students unlike the hard chairs that they now have.

The task chair will benefit students by allowing them easy movement when working in groups. Children can roll their chair to the area where they need to do the work. This chair will also help students to get out energy while they sit and not disturb others. Students can move the chair side to side while reading, attending to their assignment, or listening to directions.
