My students need writing tools including chart paper and markers, sticky notes, and gel pens. They also need a new cassette/CD player for the listening center.
Colored gel pens and fun shaped sticky notes are just what we need to make learning to write fun!
I teach an awesome group of twenty-two kindergarten students.
I have a very diverse group of personalities and backgrounds that includes English language learners, students with special needs, and students from low socioeconomic families. But, most importantly, they are awesome kids who are eager to learn. My students are bursting with enthusiasm and excitement for learning, and love coming to school. I am constantly trying to incorporate artsy activities into our learning activities. Some students thrive on visual and kinesthetic learning opportunities, not to mention those that have artistic abilities shine when given opportunities.
My Project
I woud love to spruce up our writing center with some fun new materials. Fun pens and sticky notes will provide my students with fun alternative writing tools and materials. My boys and girls will love the butterfly, basketball and star shaped sticky notes. The chart paper and markers will allow us to enjoy collaborative whole group shared writing experiences. Kindergarten is when students are developing the foundations in reading and writing skills. The more positive experiences I can provide them, the more they will love learning and improve their skills.
Our CD player recently bit the dust! My kids listen to stories each day during our literacy center stations. We desperately need a new device to play our tapes and CD's so students can continue to enjoy being read to!
These requested materials are so important to the functioning of my classroom.
Our listening center and writing center are two important area of our classroom that students gain valuable reading and writing skills each and every day.
