This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My first graders always come into the classroom with so much energy and excitement to be there! The students love being the first one in the classroom and then counting how many more students come in after. They are eager to learn and always very proud of the work that they complete.

The key to learning is getting the students excited about it.

My students love making connections between their lives and the learning as well as connections with me as the teacher. There is always laughter and love in the classroom, and I adore my students for creating that environment.

My Project

As a first-year teacher, there are a lot of things to get ready for a classroom. Many of those things come along as a surprise that you never would have imagined needing!

Having an organized and functional classroom is vital.

Students having the materials that they need at the ready is important in the flow of the class day. My students use so many various materials throughout the day to participate in activities and answer questions! This keeps them interested in the learning as well as encourages participation among all students.

Functionality in the classroom helps my students and me focus on the content that they are learning and the lessons flow more smoothly overall!
