Our school is at the edge of a large school corporation, located within a rural farming community. This is my first year teaching at my school, and I am looking forward to providing my students with as many hands-on opportunities to make and create music as I can!
My students are enthusiastic young musicians, and I am so excited to get to know them this year as we create, perform, connect, listen, and respond to music together!
My Project
Additional sets of classroom instruments and bean bags will allow students to have their own instrument and/or bean bag for classroom activities. Students will be able to keep a steady beat, and read, create, and perform new rhythms with these materials!
This year, students may not share supplies for health and safety reasons, and instruments and materials must be sanitized between student use; having these new materials will be helpful as we implement these new procedures.
We are fortunate to have a set of Orff xylophones and metallophones at our school. New yarn mallets can replace worn mallets in need of replacement, and the curricular resource will support student learning as they explore, create, and perform with our classroom instruments!
