This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
A typical day in the gym is us setting up for all the classes in the morning so its set up for the day, we usually are doing stations due to lack of equipment that we have but I am trying to build our PE program to make it a great one. Every teacher wants their students to experience new things.
My students come from the Bronx, and most of them live in shelters and don't really have a lot of valuables.
I am trying to bring new and fun games to PE that my students will never see when they are out of school due their living situations or family incomes. My school has the potential to be one of the best and I'm trying to make it just a little bit better by getting new equipment for my students.
My Project
My students will be able to play safely with the new equipment, and this new equipment is more safe for our students since this is an elementary school. I'm trying to get equipment that is for K-5 students, which is all Nerf equipment and softer equipment for the safety of our students. My students need dodge balls, I am trying to build up my equipment and getting the dodge balls allow me to give one to each kid and also the foam disc allows us to play safer in the gym.
The new equipment will make a huge difference in our PE program.
I will be able to teach my students different activities with this equipment, plus it's safer. More safe equipment will allow me to play safe activities. I really just hope that my project gets funded because my students deserve the chance to feel and see what something new equipment looks like.
