Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students will enjoy learning through play in the classroom. Pre-K is an exciting time, as many children are coming to school for the first time. They will stay actively engaged with hands-on activities such as building with magnetic tiles, exploring letters with magnetic alphabets, and using Play-Doh to form their names. Pencils will also play an important role as they begin learning to write their names for the first time. Incorporating play into learning helps reduce behavior disruptions and boosts student engagement. The students will be able to touch the sand and water with their little hands and experience the texture of sand throughout the year, as the unit of study changes so will the objects inside the sand tub for the students to explore. My goal is to support all students in their learning throughout the year, even while one group is actively engaged in learning centers.
