My Students
I teach in an urban area in Massachusetts. My students come from very diverse backgrounds. They range from high honors to special education students, and enjoy reading a variety of genres from Mythology to graphic novels. I provide as much as I can for my students beyond the actual classroom, sometimes it's meals or a sweater, other times it's a book that their parents can't afford. I try to keep my classroom library as stocked as possible, but it's hard to keep up with all the amazing books that are coming out!
My Project
Many of my students do not have access to a variety of books, so when they come into my classroom, I want them to get excited to see new book titles. My students read many different genres and I teach students of ALL reading levels, so to have access to graphic novels and high interest novels that are high school level is huge!
Students come to me because they know I have a lot to choose from, and it encourages reading, which is my main goal: keep them reading!
I am proud to have one of the largest classroom libraries in the middle school, but a lot of my books are becoming out of date. Please consider donating some new books to my 7th grade classroom.
