My Students

Our school is located on the lower eastern shore of Maryland. We are a Title I school with a high percentage (approximately 70%) of students living at or below the poverty level. Our school is a small, rural community school with fewer than 400 students in grades 4-8.

Despite the many challenges my students face, they are eager to learn.

My students are always super excited to come to my class, and I am eager to present them with thoughtful, engaging science content. Science is best learned in context, by doing and experiencing things. DonorsChoose helps make this happen.

We are small but mighty. We have a lot of school spirit, and it really is a great place to spend my time. We are very active in the community and focus on building positive relationships both inside and outside of the school setting.

My Project

It looks like we will have the majority of our students back in the classroom in the fall. I've been busy getting ready all summer but there are some items I don't have that will make their return a little nicer.

I am requesting classroom basics like wipes, paper towels, cleaners and cleaning supplies, candy, birdseed for our feeders and printer ink to make our lives a little more comfortable as we navigate year 3 of this pandemic.
