Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work with an AMAZING group of 4th and 5th grade students all who have special needs. All of these students come from extremely hard working families, living in a neighborhood that is made up primarily of low income/ immigrant families.

Several of my students have rough backgrounds.

Some of my student's experience crime outside of school, and are surrounded by gang activity. I am always motivated by how they come to school ready to participate, no matter what happened the day before.

My Project

Our students have various sensory, visual, behavioral and learning styles. These materials will provide an enhanced learning environment for our students who have special needs.

The rug, with its calming colors, will be used for our new classroom library.

Students will be able to sit on it while they work on their reading skills and IEP goals. The activity balls will be used as apart of our flexible seating; these balls help our students with ADHD and sensory needs focus while they sit at our tables.

The refrigerator will keep our student's speciality food/snacks/ drinks fresh. The coffee maker will keep our Special Education Assistants and staff fueled and caffeinated to keep up with our students!

Each of these supplies will make a positive impact on our students' learning and ability to focus! Thank you for your donation!
