My students LOVE to perform. They are from one of the largest rural counties in the state of Kentucky and both of my schools are 100 percent free and reduced lunch.
My students do not have the cultural opportunities students in larger cities have.
They have a passion to be creative and really shine when they are performing for their families and the community.
Our community is VERY supportive of the ARTS and helps whenever I ask. Every grade at both of my schools presents a Christmas program and it really is a community effort.
Students in Greenup County are involved in school activities, compete in sports, active in outside school activities church sports leagues, community theater, and fitness classes through dance/cheer studios.
My Project
Students in my music classes love to perform. Students perform at many ceremonies and festivals throughout the year. Greenup County has a fall festival every year called Old Fashion Days that our district always opens the performances. Veterans Day is very important to our district and we perform for our veterans. During the Christmas season ALL grades perform a Christmas program. In the spring Kindergarten students perform a program for their parents that shares everything they learned during their First Year Of School. For the students, one of the most important performances is at the end of the year, the annual Talent Show.
This requested Bose S1 Pro Multi-Position Powered sound system will give my students the opportunity to perform in places other than on our stage.
We recently built a porch on the front of our school where grade levels could perform for the school. Students could open the annual field day with the National Anthem out on the soccer field. There are so many ways this sound system will help our school.
The Bose sound system will also be helpful in the school. It is portable so it can be used in the classroom for the students to practice for performances. I spend time at the beginning of the school year teaching students how to use a microphone. The Bose sound system will give a quality system to use for this lesson.
