Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Join us on an adventure as we explore past California! Our 4th grade classes will be joining together to provide students a day of learning, exploring and fun as they experience California history. History in 4th grade is all about learning about our great state of California.

Our day is going to be filled with panning for gold or gemstones, hand washing clothes, tortilla and butter making, Native American history and games, leather tooling and fossil making.

The items requested would support this day for not only my students, but all 4th graders at our school. The materials will be used for different stations that give students experiences from past California days. The leather and stamping set will be used for tooling on the leather strips, allowing each student to take a souvenir with them. The gemstones and tubs will allow each student to "pan for gold." The cups will be used for butter making and the clay will be used for fossil making. We hope to make this a special day for our students as they learn about California and get a small experience of how Californians lived in the past.
