This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am blessed to teach in a Title I-funded school with 18, sweet, kindergarten students. My students are young, and most are experiencing school for the first time.
I teach an amazing group of kindergartners.
My students are always looking for ways to help others. We are a family, and their eagerness to help care for others is so inspiring. Some of my students are learning their letters and sounds, while others are learning how to read and write.
Some of my students can recognize numbers, while others are learning how to count and write numbers. They always try their best and are always willing to learn. My students are adventurous. They enjoy playing outside at recess, singing, dancing, and are constantly on the move.
My Project
Young children love to play with magnets. Having letters to build words with will be a fun way to have them practice. My students will be able to build CVC words, word families and sight words with magnetic letters during literacy centers and small groups.
The benefits of magnetic letters are incredible.
Not only are they fun, but they are also a great teaching tool. Letter manipulatives are as important as having a visual alphabet around! These small pieces are setting the stage for reading, writing, visual discrimination and more literacy foundations.
