My Project

My third-grade students are curious, hardworking, and eager to grow as readers. They learn best when they can discuss books with their classmates, ask thoughtful questions, and make connections to their own lives. However, our classroom needs additional copies of high-quality novels so every student can fully participate in small-group book clubs.

These chapter books, including Frindle, Because of Winn-Dixie, The Lemonade War, The One and Only Ivan, Stone Fox, and The Tale of Despereaux, will help my students strengthen reading comprehension, vocabulary, critical thinking, and communication skills.

My goal is to provide engaging, differentiated reading experiences that encourage meaningful discussions, deeper analysis of characters and themes, and a lifelong love of reading. With these books, every student will have the opportunity to collaborate, build confidence, and discover the joy of becoming an independent reader.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
