My Students

My students come from a rural community that takes pride in our kids' education as a whole. Many of my students receive free and reduced-price lunch and breakfast. Due to the high poverty in our district, many of my students do not get the opportunity to be exposed to a variety of ways to stay physically active.

Our building is an early elementary and is home to over 300 rambunctious, loving kids under seven years old.

Students love to come to Physical Education, so we make the most out of every minute by finding new ways to get active daily.

My Project

My students are just getting introduced to many sports related activities when they enter my class. In order for them to be successful, I need to have a variety of balls available for them to use. My students are so young that regulation size equipment does not work for them. If I have these modified balls for my kids, I will be able to introduce a variety of ways that they can be physically active throughout their lives. My hope is to have everyone of my students find a fitness activity or sport that they love and continue with it throughout their life.
