My Project
A dry-erase grid is an excellent way to help provide that differentiated instruction to my special education students and regular ed students. Due to the pandemic and future worries of another pandemic, all instruction is made online, but students come to school and learn in person. It is challenging to have students make graphs on their computers because when they take their science state exams, they will need to draw line/bar graphs on their own. These grids will help them show me that they can make line/bar graphs independently without using a computer. The teacher will use the larger graph grid to demonstrate how to create charts, and students will present their work to the classroom. Markers and erasers will also be needed for students to make their graphs.
Due to Covid, with budget cuts and necessary materials not being replaced, the school can't supply dry-erase grids to the students.
Using paper grids is costly and negatively affects the environment through the waste of paper. Using dry-erase grids makes it easier for consistent renewable use.
But, they must receive the necessary differentiated instruction that they deserve. Students need an alternative to complete school work in the classroom if they cannot afford a computer and be exposed to the crucial necessary science curriculum that using the grids can provide.
