My Students

My students are in 9th grade and are struggling readers. My school has a very high poverty rate and it is a struggle to have students attend school on a regular basis. Because parents are working, we do not get a whole lot of parental support.

I would like to create a project that would help me to incorporate additional technology into my Reading classroom.

I know that the utilization of technology in a learning environment is key to engaging students.

My Project

Access to technology for my students is a daily struggle. Although our school has been able to purchase some technology equipment for students and teachers, it is at the most basic level.

My students will benefit from the Microsoft Surface Pro Go, as I will be able to have mobile technology that will enable me to circulate around the classroom while teaching.

This is very important, as I will be able to assist students actively, while providing instruction and accessing technology at the same time. Currently, I am unable to even advance a power point presentation away from my desk- thus limiting my mobility.
