My Students
This is my third year teaching at a Charter school in an urban setting. This year my classroom will be a mixed-age group of K4 and K5 students. This year is so important as it sets the foundation for their love of learning. It is also important because we work so hard on developing strong social and emotional skills that will carry over into the rest of their lives. In this room we build character, positive self-esteem, and a growth mindset. Students in this classroom will learn through play-based centers that focus on their specific interests and goals.
My Project
I’m requesting materials for my students to learn financial literacy through pretend play. I will use the Freestanding Wooden Fresh Mart Grocery Store Role Play Toy along with the Little Shoppers Grocery Set in our dramatic play area. Students can take turns being shoppers and store clerks at the pretend grocery store. They will be able to scan their items and use the Learning Resources Pretend and Play Teaching Cash Register as they pay for their groceries.
My students love role-playing and will be learning about money in a fun way. Thank you in advance for your support. It means so much to the students!
