This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Let's infuse creativity and problem solving into STEAM hands-on fun! STEAM is what we are all about! I'm requesting materials to be used in an engaging STEAM classroom lab. Students will be empowered to design and code LEGO cars and/or robots that will be raced on a timed track or have specific tasks to perform. After each run/task, students will tweak their designs to make them go faster and/or perform at a more optimal level, strategically improving on their designs and coding.

Students flourish with hands-on STEAM activities that encourage working with the Design Process (Ask, Imagine, Plan, Create, Improve, and Share) culminating in nail-biting competitions.

Students will be encouraged to discuss and critique their cars/robots with peers with scientific writing helping them to become innovative thinkers and guiding them to lifelong problem-solvers with 21st Century skills!
