My Students

I teach in a community-based school in North Little Rock, Arkansas. My students are eager to learn in this changing world!

My students are resilient 3rd graders who live within the community surrounding our school.

Last year they worked hard, mostly independently, due to COVID-19 guidelines. They showed they are tough, but also need to be kids and need to express themselves.

My Project

We have a dream to begin a Lego Club at our school this fall! Our dream is to open up an after-school club for students who are interested in art and steam projects. We want students to have an opportunity to express themselves, build reasoning skills, and work together for a final project. To begin, we would like some Lego kits, blocks, and mini figures to begin our adventure into creatively working together.

Help us create an environment for students to be hands on and combine engineering, art, and creativity.

We also know Lego is an expensive club so we will also discuss financial literacy, the privilege of having the club, and how to best take care of their resources.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
