Help me give my students these items. The pegboard 1 sided wall will be used for a gift card sorting station. The blender will help us in the smoothie bar. The folding table is for the laundry center.
I teach a unique bunch of exceptional learners. They participates in a functional base curriculum geared toward daily living skills, job and career readiness and community base leaning. Despite their disabilities my middle schoolers participates in various skill base projects within the classroom and school environment. We currently operate a smoothie bar where we collect orders from staff and make healthy and delicious smoothies. We also operate a laundry center and a store
It is my desire to expose my students to various vocational and Job readiness skills that can be built upon in high school.
These various projects also provides an opportunity for hands on learning and real life experiences.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will help to complete various vocational/functional task that already exist in my classroom. The pegboard and bins will be use in our sorting center to sort gift cards and other items. The blender will be added to our smoothie bar allowing us to be more efficient. The folding table, T-shirt folder and laundry basket will be added to our laundry center. students will check in to the various center as they would a job site using a time card. Students will dress according to the type of job.
My students becomes noticeably excited and motivated when the are able move through the various workstations/work-sites.
They are more engaged in their work. The products that I have selected will help my students by providing additional tasks to engage students at each workstation/site. The various workstation/worksheet is extremely beneficial for some students that just need to move around while they work.
All my learners are visual and kinesthetics learner with means they learn best by seeing and doing. These materials will help to foster a meaningful learning environment for all my students.
