The show was a huge success and our students were incredibly proud of their work!\r\n\r\n\"Out of the Woods\" told the story of a group of fairytale characters, including Jack (of the Beanstalk), Lil'Red (Riding Hood), Big Brother Pig, The Big \"Brad\" Wolf, Gingie (The Gingerbread Man), and Superman visiting from Metropolis, on a journey to bring Fairy Godmother home to Fairytale-Crossing. Along the way, they faced unique challenges and learned valuable life lessons, all while practicing important skills like teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving.\r\n\r\nYour donations provided us with special and unique costumes for all of our students in each musical number. Because of you, we were able to bring so many fairytale characters to life, from Gingie's candy buttons, to the Three Billy Goats' beards, to Rapunzel's signature braid. Thanks to you, our main characters were able to find Fairy Godmother and bring her back to Fairytale-Crossing to restore the magic. \r\n\r\nYour donations helped build our actors' confidence to perform in character and create an amazing, high quality final production. Additionally, now we have these items in our permanent collection and can use them in shows for years to come!\r\n\r\nWith your help we were able to reach our \"Happily Ever After\". Your contribution has truly transformed our classroom into a dynamic space where science comes alive through hands-on, sensory-rich experiences.\r\n\r\nWhen the new materials arrived, my students were absolutely thrilled. Their eyes lit up with curiosity and excitement as they explored tools and resources that connected scientific concepts to real-world applications. One unforgettable moment was during our unit learning about earth science. Using the volcano buidling kits, students worked in small groups to build a volcano, helping them understand how the volcano explodesin a way that was both tactile and deeply engaging.\r\n\r\nThese resources have allowed us to bridge science with everyday life skills, making learning more inclusive and meaningful—especially for students who benefit from kinesthetic and experiential learning. One student, who typically struggles with focus, was completely immersed in building a model of the hand and explaining how eruptions work using vinegar, baking soda anf food coloring. It was a breakthrough moment that highlighted the power of learning through doing.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're diving into a project on human body and physics. Students will be designing classroom tools that promote healthy posture and movement, applying both scientific principles and occupational therapy strategies. It's inspiring to see them take ownership of their learning and think critically about how science can improve lives.\r\n\r\nYour support has made all of this possible. Thank you for believing in our students and helping us create a classroom where science is not just studied—it's experienced.","fullyFundedDate":1746026830093,"projectUrl":"project/experiencing-science-through-occupationa/9034172/","projectTitle":"Experiencing Science through Occupational Therapy","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. John","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9888309_orig.jpg?crop=2472,2472,x1169,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1736278863015","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9888309"},{"teacherId":9419686,"projectId":8271026,"letterContent":"The support we've received through donations of printer ink, classroom supplies, and snacks has made a big difference in my students' learning experience. Having access to printer ink means I can provide students with handouts, worksheets, and visual aids that help reinforce the lesson. These printed materials allow them to work through problems at their own pace, take notes, and keep things they can refer back to later. Classroom supplies like pens, pencils, paper, and notebooks ensure that every student has the tools they need to engage fully in their work without worrying about bringing supplies from home. It's also one less thing for students to focus on, as they know they can count on having everything they need to succeed in class.\r\n\r\nThe snacks we've received have been incredibly beneficial as well. Many of my students come to school hungry, and having snacks available during the day helps them stay focused and energized. It's amazing to see how much a simple snack can impact their mood and concentration. When students aren't distracted by hunger, they're more likely to stay engaged in lessons and participate in class activities. This support has helped ensure that all students, regardless of their home circumstances, have what they need to be at their best during the school day.\r\n\r\nI've seen direct benefits from these donations, especially for students who might not have access to these resources otherwise. Some students struggle to focus without the right tools, and having classroom supplies available allows them to participate without feeling behind or left out. Additionally, students who may not have regular access to healthy food at home are noticeably more alert and involved when they've had a snack during the day. It's rewarding to see the positive effect these simple but essential resources have on their ability to learn, stay engaged, and feel supported in the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1720977525096,"projectUrl":"project/crafts-and-positive-behavioral-reinforce/8271026/","projectTitle":"Crafts and Positive Behavioral Reinforcers","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Tolentino","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9419686_orig.jpg?crop=423,423,x0,y90&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1710517332056","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9419686"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_110848","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":74,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":34,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":74.6,"schoolId":110848,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Riverview PS 277Q @311 on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Riverview PS 277Q @311","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/riverview-public-school-277q-311/110848"}
