My Students

My classroom is full of little explorers ready to take on kindergarten. This is a place where they will learn to do a lot of "firsts" in their lives, and we strive for excellence. I teach in a Title 1 school in Georgia.

My class consists of 21 awesome students.

Of those 21 students, three are English Language Learners and three are speech. All of the students receive free breakfast and lunch. Despite the poverty, they are eager to learn. They get excited when they finally get what they have worked so hard for. They all have such a positive attitude. They also strive to do their absolute best.

My Project

My students will use the headphones to take advantage of computer programs provided by my school. My students are required to use certain programs every day. These programs help with literacy skills such as blending words, reading short passages and learning sight words. The kids get so excited when they move to a different map. With the headphones, it is less distracting to the other groups in the classroom.

As a Title 1 school, a lot of my students are from low-income homes and cannot afford to buy extra things.

As a teacher, it is hard for me to provide for my family and for the 21 kids in my classroom and having this project funded would help so much.
