Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
According to the National Education Association, having kids read a lot is one of the crucial components of becoming a good reader. Young readers need to become practiced at recognizing letters and sounds. The only way to get good at it is to practice.
Unfortunately, in Illinois, we are facing a budget deficit in our educational funding.
We have an increase in students in the classroom, but not the resources that should go along with it. I teach in a predominantly Hispanic/African-American students. The majority of our students come from low-income families. I teach to students that do not have computers in their own homes.
My Project
Students start in Early Words where they learn skills like decoding and blending. Next, students move to Early Stories where they read and interact with the new words they learned using touch manipulatives. In the third module, Early Writing, students "write" stories by dragging and dropping words and pictures to create their own stories. Moby's Early Reading Trio is essential for helping your beginning readers become proficient readers and quickly writers.
Your help will ensure that my students have the opportunity to get the joy of reading.
Your donation will give my students an experience of a lifetime. Thank you so much for your support.
