Help me give my students quality literature to enjoy as a listening center or a read aloud. My listening center is lacking fairy tales and fables, stories that the students love and need to be more familiar with.
My students are twenty-one eager and excited five to six year olds. This is their first year in elementary school and I want to make it the best one ever. I am setting the bar for their academic experience and I want to enhance their learning anyway I can.
My students are creative, energetic, and over half come from poverty.
We live in an area where the students come from many walks of life. Our school is comprised of eight hundred and forty-six students. There are many different ethnic groups that I teach such as Asian, Black, Hispanic, Indian, Multi, and White. Our budget has been cut to one hundred dollars for the year. This is not enough to meet the needs of my students.
As a teacher of kindergarten my students need to be exposed to a variety of literature in a variety of ways. The books I am requesting will meet these needs. Students need to be exposed to multiple texts in a variety of ways. These books will aloud me to share quality texts as read alouds, big books, and through my listening center on a daily basis.
Quality read alouds, big books, and listening center texts will expose my students to fairy tales, life cycles, learning about each other and themselves, as well as reading for pleasure.
Many of these books I am wanting to share with my students this year as read alouds during elearning. All texts will be used and enjoyed for many years to come by hundreds of students.
