My Project

I have this idea of starting something new with my students. I want to try resin casting as a reward for hitting their goals. My TAG (Talented And Gifted) students are working towards high goals that their teachers and I have set for them. I want to try a new style of reward and awards system.

My students compete in OBOB (Oregon Battle Of the Books) and on virtual math teams all year long, this takes a lot of hard work and dedication.

I want to find a new style of party and reward that we can do after each competition or goal has been achieved as a group.

We always have an end of year party to celebrate their hard work but, if feels off. . . I want to be able to celebrate at the end of each competition and goal they have reached. If we started to do this resin casting we could have casting party as a reward. Most of the supplies are reusable so I could have this for many, many groups to come. With the parties I just don't have the funding to do it all the time.

Plus I can also use the molds to go with the 3D printer when there are printing fails I can melt down the garbage filament in these molds and keep it out of the landfill. A win win situation for a failure of a print. But the only way this idea will ever happen is by being gifted the ability to do it from you.
