This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach kindergarten in a K-6 public school where all my kids are excited to come to school and learn! In my classroom we create a community of little learners. We are a family away from home and I love how supportive all my kids are of each other. My school is 100% free and reduced price lunch and the students in our class come from a wide variety of socioeconomic backgrounds, family structures, and many of them are EL learners.

My goal is to create an environment where my students feel empowered to learn.

Our classroom is a wonderful community and I want to provide my students with the best learning environment.

My Project

A lot of our time is spent on the learning rug! We dance, sing, learn, and come together as a community of learners on our classroom rug. With so much going on in the class, our classroom rug gets a lot of wear and tear. I want students to have a clean space where they can sit and learn comfortably.

By donating to our classroom, you will be providing my students with a new clean space to sit and learn many of the important skills that kinder students need to learn.

As a kindergarten teacher, I see the time spent together learning on the rug as a special time for my class.
