My students need help with keeping their materials organized. These items will help students feel successful and responsible for their own belongings. We need seat sacks and book bins.
My students are a very diverse group of second graders. Many of them live in homeless shelters or are in poverty. They deal with daily struggles that no 7 year old should have to go through. When my students come to school, they have a structured day, food to eat, and receive nurture from adults in the building. For some of my students, school is the only place where they feel safe. I strive to create a classroom that engages all learners. The majority of my students are below grade level academically and socially. It will be a great day when my students can worry about their school work before anything else going on around them.
My Project
My students struggle with keeping their materials organized. They often lose their work. Seat sacks will allow students to keep things close to them yet not all over their table spots. Also, we do not have desks in my classroom so these will give students space to put their belongings and a clean table space. Book bins will allow me to organize my classroom library by genre.
The donation for this project will help improve my classroom by allowing us to be more organized.
I will be able to provide appropriate routines and procedures to ensure my students become more responsible.
