This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Making school fun is sometimes a challenge. My school is lacking when it comes to activities, books, and games, and these supplies are a necessity when it comes to making school enjoyable for 6th graders.

My students are 6th graders in a very low income school in Texas.

About 98% of them receive free or reduced lunch. It is hard for them to buy school supplies let alone the basic needs of their families. They are very bright students who love to learn and need these interactive supplies to succeed. Many of them are at risk for failing the 6th grade, not because they can't learn or do not try, but because of their situations.

My Project

I am requesting interactive activities, books, and games having to do with Earth Science, the Solar System, Matter and Energy, Forces and Motion, Simple Machines, and Cells and Organisms. These are all apart of our curriculum in Texas, and we do not have many resources in our school.

These activities, books, and games would help give my kids a better understanding of the topics they need to master in order to move on to the next grade.

They will make learning fun and have my kids wanting more!
