Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a Kindergarten teacher at an inner city school in South Gate, CA. We are a Title 1 school in which 100% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch. Our student body is 99% Latino. I am so happy to be teaching 20 happy, energetic, and inquisitive kindergarteners! They have so much energy and enjoy developing their gross motor skills through outdoor games. The new equipment will allow the students to open their minds to new sports and activities while developing their skills in catching, jumping, and coordination.

This Equipment will facilitate our Workout Wednesdays!

After attending several professional development courses for Physical Education and health, I would love to bring the knowledge gained, ideas and activities to my students. On Wednesdays, I dedicate a time slot to workout. Unfortunately, our equipment is limited and shared with other classrooms. It is also only available during recess and lunch recess. I would love to have my own P.E. equipment, so I can spend more time teaching my students new games, activities, and develop their gross motor skills!
