Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in my classroom are eager to learn, passionate, and hard-working. They are an extension of my family; they inspire me every single day. My students work so hard throughout the year, they love hands-on projects, games, and activities that help them learn.
I love finding different ways to reinforce and review lessons in my class such as games, collaborative projects, and hands-on activities and labs.
All of these different things require the use of new materials and supplies. With years of enthusiastic learners, many of the materials has worn thin, run out, and need to be replaced.
My Project
My students love hands-on activities, projects, and games that get them moving, talking, and laughing.
I love to create collaborative games to help reinforce math and science concepts; hands-on activities to investigate science, and simulations to help deepen understanding of our nation's history.
In this project I am asking or expo markers and laminate in order to help create these kinds of activities. Our classroom is lucky to have whiteboard tables, BUT all of our whiteboard markers have dried out. I would love to be able to have colorful whiteboard markers for students to be able to demonstrate their learning by creating colorful visuals right on their desks. We also will use the markers to play quick math games as a fun and fast way for me to check if they understand a concept.
The laminate will be used to laminate the colorful games and visuals for our projects so that they can be used over and over in the classroom. The basket head is part of our "grudge ball" review games that my students love to play. Lastly, we will use the crown, hats, and badges to create an American Revolution simulation. This is a great way for students to "experience" events of the Revolution first hand.
