My students need these knife sets so I can introduce the basic knife skills for cooking fundamentals. I cannot teach students these basic skills without safe and reliable equipment.
I am in my first year of teaching an amazing group of 7th & 8th graders. I consider myself a fully blessed and grateful teacher to pass on daily life skills for my students.
We currently live in a society where students are heavily pressured to learn skills that will prepare them for college and the corporate world.
As I know these skills are important, I also feel that we cannot neglect the need for teaching our children the basic daily functions of life. I service a group of students that live in a lower income area and are not all subject to further their education after high school. Some of these students will start young families and need to know how to take care of a home and family.
My Project
These knife sets are the fundamental basics needed to help students learn the art of cooking. Some of the students that take my Home Economics class are looking to learn the skills to better help their own families at home, learn how to take care of themselves or to harvest an interest within themselves to start the process of a culinary pathway.
Some of these students could start their professional pathway by the inspiration given in this class.
I have the passion and the encouragement to help students fulfill their academic, professional and social skills in my classroom. Some students take this class simply because they are hungry, some take it so they can help their families, others are interested in making it a career. Whatever the goal of the students, I know that I can help them to live a better life!
