Today's students represent all the good that is in the world. I teach sixty-three students that are a mix of ELL, ESE (Exceptional Children) and Academically Gifted. These children have a wide range of abilities and interests. They enjoy spending time in our organic garden, hands-on science activities, creating songs about science, and critical thinking activities while interacting with technology. In addition to diverse learning needs my students vary between poverty level and affluence.
My students require a dynamic learning environment.

My Project
Using the headphones, students will be able to record and explain their thinking using apps such as Seesaw and Flipgrid. The headphones will allow them to speak clearly so that background noise from the class will not not be heard in individual responses. After reading passages or completing experiments, students will be able to respond to questions from me and each other in a meaningful way.
These materials will help my students interact more closely with technology and each other.
No longer will students have to limit themselves to written responses. Thanks to the addition of these materials, two or more students will be able to view and listen to Flipgrid, Seesaw, Discovery Education, and many other programs.
After watching or exploring assigned material, students will be able to go to our recording studio and video record themselves, partners, or small groups. It is so valuable for them to be able to collaborate on answers, and then have to verbally explain their thinking. Then, other groups can reflect on what was stated and add their opinions.
With the addition of these headphones and splitters, messages to me and each other will be clear and easy to understand. We can also instantly send these recordings to parents! How amazing for them to see and hear learning taking place in real time! Now that background noise will be eliminated, parents and classmates will have a true picture of what was intended.
