This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Trenton, New Jersey, is a sanctuary city. Students from nations all over the world immigrate to Trenton with their families. The city, although economically poor in many areas, is rich in cultures and heritage from all corners of the world. We have a growing population of Hispanic immigrants, most speaking their native language Spanish. Many of our students, both native and non-native to Trenton, struggle to meet basic classroom needs each day. This means that it is extra important for us to make sure they have a classroom filled with essential items that they can access at any time. Their social/emotional well-being depends on knowing that they are free to use basic learning items in our classroom that will not run out! I am therefore creating a charging station for students to charge their iPads that they can access all the time!
The items I am requesting will provide our science students with equipment to charge their iPads as they are unable to charge their iPads at home - I am requesting chargers and charging stations.
These charging items will go a long way in ensuring our students have access all the time to electricity that supports their social-emotional learning. I am requesting chargers and charging stations with a staple gun so we can make it stationary. Students will be able to use and access this charging station all day.
