Let's Gecko-ing

Help me give my students an opportunity to build a terrarium for a leopard gecko. These materials, like the bog terrarium plant set, will be utilized by the students to design a habitat for a living animal.

My Project

My students are largely at-risk youth: the majority of them facing homelessness, gun violence, pervasive drug use, and/or teen parenting. As a science teacher, I strive to excite and motivate my students in a variety of scientific realms which could provide a positive influence on their lives.

 A class pet will not only foster a culture of excitement in my classroom- but will help my students understand the importance of consistency, responsibility, and care.

With the materials to help our future pet Gecko thrive, my students will be more engaged in their Chemistry, Biology, Physical and Environmental Science classes.
