Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In our classroom, we prioritize creating a space that fosters engagement, collaboration, and comfort. The addition of a movable whiteboard will enable small groups of students to work together more effectively, offering them a dedicated space to collaborate and share ideas. While we have bean bags for students to sit on, they’ve become a bit flat over time, so the refill packs will help ensure they are comfortable throughout lessons.
Currently, my students have to use their hands to erase on whiteboards, which unfortunately leads to oils from their skin damaging the surface.
Providing them with whiteboard erasers will not only make erasing easier, but it will also protect the longevity of the boards.
The standing desk will be a game changer, allowing students to present their work and ideas at a more comfortable height while promoting engagement and focus during class discussions.
As part of our efforts to keep students energized and focused, I’ll be providing healthy snacks throughout the day. These snacks will give my students the peace of mind that they have a nourishing food source to help fuel their learning.
Lastly, the watercolor paper will offer students a creative outlet to express themselves. Through art, they’ll be able to share their personal stories with their families and explore their creative talents in a meaningful way.
With these additions, I believe we can create a classroom environment that supports both the academic and emotional needs of my students. Thank you for considering supporting our project!
