As a first-year teacher, it is important for me to be able to provide my kindergarten students with a safe place to learn and to be themselves. I want to be able to provide my students with an area that they can come together to talk with their peers and listen to stories. Having an area rug in our classroom will help to give my students options of where they want to sit. It will provide a warm and cozy spot for my students to be in the colder months, as well as a bright and colorful area to share ideas on. This carpet will provide a place for learning and listening, where my students are able to take hold of their education and put what they know to the test. With the funding of this project, my hope is that my students will be able to benefit from having a designated area to work on projects, assignments, brain breaks and storytime.
