My Project

What I love most about my students is their natural curiosity, creativity, and joyful energy. They are always eager to explore, ask questions, and try new things. Each resource I’ve chosen is meant to nurture those qualities and support their development in unique ways.

I want to start a project during AAPI Month to celebrate and honor the rich cultural heritage, stories, and contributions of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.

It’s important for students to see themselves and others reflected in the learning environment, and this project offers a meaningful way to promote inclusion, understanding, and pride in diverse identities. By engaging with AAPI traditions, literature, and activities, we can foster empathy, respect, and a deeper sense of community in our classroom.

The dumpling books offer not only delightful stories but also a chance for students to connect with culture, build empathy, and expand their vocabulary. Reading together helps strengthen their listening and comprehension skills, while also sparking imagination.

The Play-Doh and mini rollers are a wonderful tool for hands-on learning. It encourages creativity, fine motor development, and sensory exploration. They are going to learn how to make dumplings with these tools.

The Luban Lock is originally from China, and it is a great way to promote problem-solving, spatial awareness, and patience. As they work to unlock the puzzle, students learn about perseverance and the joy of discovery through trial and error.
