This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are special just like you. Otherwise, you wouldn't be reading this! Our student population is Gifted and Talented learning in a culturally diverse school.
My students are high academic achievers with lots of creative Energy.
My students are natural readers and leaders. They love to explore art, music, and dance. My students LOVE to make projects in our MakerSpace using common household objects such as egg cartons and duct tape. My students attend a Title l school in Bedford-Stuyvesant and are eager to thrive through the support of generous donors like yourself.
My Project
Creating hands-on LEGO Learning opportunities in my classroom will help my students develop 21st century skills and lifelong learners. Students will learn how to develop and design communities with LEGO sets that are aligned with the Passport to Social Studies Curriculum.
My mission is to inspire and develop the builders and creators of tomorrow.
Students will be able to sketch out their community with their classmates and use the LEGO Community Sets to build their community based on where they live. This will provide the opportunity to learn more about the communities where their classmates live.
My students will also have the opportunity to develop their social-emotional intelligence by collaborating with their peers to build the community in an engaged, open-ended progressive learning environment.
