This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come mostly from low-income, single-parent households. Some of these households have more than one family living under one roof. Because of these disadvantages, I try to make sure each student takes advantage of the knowledge they gain from each and everyday of class.
A lot of the students I teach are below grade level and are struggling readers.
It causes issues in the classroom when you have twenty-five percent of the class on grade level and the other seventy-five percent below.
My Project
A teacher's life is hard sometimes. We get boggled down with having to create lesson plans, bulletin boards, making sure the students are engaged at all times, and so much other stuff. On top of that, teachers try to make sure students receive little trinkets for each holiday or special occasion. Having a Cricut will not only save me from spending a lot of money on buying the students gifts, it will allow me to create something from the heart. Each gift will be uniquely made for each student.
The students will be able to use the Cricut for our arts and crafts projects during the different holidays.
The Cricut will also save time on creating bulletin boards. No more going to the teacher supply store to purchase letters and pictures. I will be able to create my the bulletin board with just the computer, Cricut and card stock. It is a very good investment.
