Help me give my students headphones with built-in microphones to better engage in our curriculum.
I am the teacher of 25 enthusiastic, curious, and determined kindergarten students. They are excited about learning and have a sense of wonder that makes teaching a joy. Every morning I look forward to greeting my students in line as their beaming smiles and eagerness to begin each day remind me that each student is a gift.
Those light bulb moments when my students realize they understand a concept are some of the most rewarding aspects of teaching.
A goal of mine is to help all students gain a love for learning, to provide opportunities for students to learn by doing, and to develop positive social emotional skills. I strive to build a supportive learning community through interactions and discussions that focus on ways of working and playing together.
These headphones will give my students better access, and the ability to utilize various forms of technology, as well as enhance home and school connection. My students have been using an app called Seesaw which allows me to upload their classwork for their families to access at home. Students are able to record themselves reading books, reciting poems, and explaining how they solve math problems. Because kindergarten classrooms are busy and loud, these headphones with built-in microphones will enable multiple students to utilize the recording tool simultaneously on the Seesaw app, as the microphone will be able to pick up their individual voice and eliminate the background noise that typically distracts the listener. Another benefit of these headphones is that they are able to connect to each other so that multiple students can access the Epic Books app and listen to stories on a single iPad.
