Mrs. g. from Culver OR is requesting Musical Instruments through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.

Let's Bring Ukuleles to Our Community

Help me give my students 10 ukeleles for a chance to share their music talents with their family, community and the world.

My Students

I have wonderful, talented, energetic students. We all work together at a very small, rural school in Oregon. Almost three hundred students join the music community for thirty minutes, once a week. We love to experience music by listening, moving, playing and singing.

We recently started a beginning ukulele unit in our music class.

The students have been very excited about learning to play. We currently own 19 ukuleles. We really need 10 more ukuleles to accommodate the class size. Rotating and sharing has been difficult and wastes our limited valuable class time.

My Project

We are requesting 10 additional ukuleles which will provide an instrument for every student in our classroom. No more wasting time rotating and switching instruments. Students can practice with their instruments for the entire class period.

The students have been very excited about learning to play the ukulele.

However, they get easily frustrated when they need to sit and wait for an instrument. The additional ukuleles will provide EVERY student their own instrument in the classroom.

Students will be able to learn to play together.

Students will be able to learn basic chords.

Students will be able to learn basic music skills and notation.

Students will be introduced to folk music and popular music of today.

Students will be able to share their talents with their families, community, and the world around them.

Students will be provided with access to life long learning.
