In my classroom, my students all have different backgrounds and require different tools to help them become successful in their own unique ways. Many of these kids have learning disabilities from dyslexia to autism that prevent them from learning to their highest potential in the traditional atmosphere of a classroom. Therefore, finding differentiated ways to help them move past challenges is necessary for growth. My goal is to achieve just that! My students need literature that appeals to THEM, as an individual. Creating a classroom that is inclusive is imperative to learning.
My Project
The books I've chosen will help accommodate all types of readers in my classroom. Whether they are more engaged through fiction, non-fiction, or genres in between, this selection will allow greater choice for each reader at their reading level.
Creating an inviting, rigorous classroom library allows children to become more engaged and responsible for their reading.
Discovering a love for information and learning helps set a precedent for the importance that a book holds.
In my library, my goal is to have a wide assortment of books to capture the attention of every learner. The book bags will help students organize their selections so they can more easily keep track of their weekly book choices.
