Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is the first dual language immersion in our school district. It is located in a low social economic area in which all students receive free lunch. Our school strives to produce bilateral responsible young people. My class consists of 26 enthusiastic students who are learning to embrace each other, as well as a new culture.

My students are compassionate young learners who enjoy teaching and learning from each other!

They enjoy working in a small group setting and are eager to help their peers.

My Project

My students truly enjoy working independently and would love to have a few more seating areas in their classroom. We currently have one nice little couch that fits three students. It would be nice to have two more pieces of furniture that they could use when reading or working independently.

My students are trustworthy and hardworking.

My students enjoy working and learning in a small group setting. This is not as easy as it seems when there is no comfortable space to sit on. I am impressed by how much more focused they are when they are allowed to work in a quiet space. They often race to the carpet area because it is their favorite. We really need more seating for them in that working area.
