Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Although I have a large number of them, each and every one of my students is kind, respectful, creative and has extreme motivation to grow and learn everyday! All of my students strive to be the closest readers, the most thoughtful writers, and outrageously curious Social Studies explorers.

They come to school each day striving to be better than the day before, yearning to provide the classroom environment with the best version of themselves.

They challenge one another, ask questions, collaborate and truly enjoy being a part of our learning family.

My students are hands-on learners, who benefit from visual, auditory, and tactile approaches. While we have been fortunate enough to enter the school year with a variety of supplies, my wide range of learners benefit from differentiated instruction and curriculum. Each student has a learning need that is unique, but equally important across the board. An increased provision of supplies and resources will only encourage my students to work harder, strive for better, and achieve the impossible. To provide resources that meet the needs of all of my learners, any possible hesitations will subside, and student success will increase!

My Project

My 32 students sit pretty tightly in our classroom, with not much room for movement. When I teach a lesson, many of them sit on the rug, but a significant number of them remain in their chairs at their desks. Much research has backed the idea that movement within the classroom is crucial for the students' attention, learning, and success. Sitting in the same seat all day decreases their attention as well as their desire to learn.

These bean bag chairs will offer another option of seating arrangements for my students.

It is crucial that they have an environment that is both welcoming and comfortable, to increase their motivation to learn.
