My Students
I teach at a Title I school in southeastern Virginia. My students are eager to learn and love to be at school. Many of my students come to school from violent neighborhoods. School is a safe and happy place for them. Our school is proud to have many ESL students. 100% of our students get free lunch and free breakfast this year. I am so happy to be their teacher because they are so eager to learn. It makes me so proud to see them blossom and become lifelong learners.
My Project
First graders are just learning to communicate ideas through writing. We need supplies that will help us be able work on our writing, hand writing and reading skills through daily practice.
Writing paper, cards and sentence strips will help students learn the many types of writing that writers do!
Pencil grips will help students hold the pencils correctly to practice letter formation. The tape will help fix boo boos along the way and the buckets will help our new tools have a home.
It is critical that students learn to communicate through writing so that they may be able to express themselves and become lifelong writers and readers.
