This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are from a small community in St. Louis, Missouri. My students come from a variety of different backgrounds. Some come from single-parent homes, high poverty environments, or homes that speak more than one language. Some of my students come to school with high attention and behavioral needs. The community is very close, and there is a sense of pride for our community and school.
As a school, our goal is for every student to discover who they are and feel empowered.
Each year my classroom is full of diverse learners and personalities. My students benefit from hands-on learning and thrive when they are given opportunities to move around and try something new.
My Project
In the past, I have bought dry erase peel and stick the paper to put on classroom tables. Students have always loved this! One major problem would always occur: the peel and stick paper did not last very long and would constantly curl up and off the table. Having a table that is already a giant dry erase board will bring this fun back into our classroom.
There are a few things students love more than getting to write directly on the table!
In the past students have loved writing on tables to practice sight words, show work during math, write, and more! Not only would my students be excited about the dry to erase top, but it could also replace a few of our current classroom tables, which are not in great shape. We would love your help to bring this resource into our classroom!
