Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a 4th grade teacher in a low income school. My class is very diverse, most being English language learners. I also have four resource students and four deaf and hard of hearing. In addition, there are eight gifted students.

Teaching art is quite challenging without the resources necessary. In light of the state and federal budget cuts, the supply room does not house materials for art.

Oil pastels, watercolor sets, watercolor pencils and paint trays will help ignite my art curriculum. We will be learning about recognized artists and emulating their works with these materials.

Please help me ignite creativity for my fourth graders. You will allow them to put down their crayons and pick up brushes and pastels and use them effectively to create their own masterpieces.
