My Students

My students really have a thirst for knowledge. I really love to be a part of their growing discovery of the world around them. Students come in every day excited about what they will learn and the new adventures we will go through our lessons together.

I want to give my students the opportunity to have a love for reading and being able to find that book and author they just can't get enough of.

My students come from various backgrounds and I would love to ignite in them the same passion I had as a kid for reading.

My Project

I want to provide my students with great literature to really further their love of reading or be able to reach students that are reluctant readers. The purpose of choosing these books as part of the Sunshine State Young Readers Award Program is to encourage students to read independently for pleasure.

I want my students to have that thirst for a great story and adventure.

These books I chose are award winning books chosen by my state because of their wide appeal to children, curriculum connections, and literary value. They also include varied genres and multicultural representation. Sunshine State books are selected for their wide appeal, literary value, varied genres, curriculum connections, and/or multicultural representation.
